And She Waves the White Flag of Surrender
For several years, I have managed somehow to resist hopping on the blogging train. I have always found myself proud over how strong I have been and how well I have stood firm against all those that have told me I need to start a blog. “No” I have always told myself, “it would take up too much time, become nothing more than my public diary, and on top of all that – I am most certain that no one would even be interested.” And that is where my thoughts have always proudly halted when thinking of the blogosphere.
In fact, my thoughts on blogging can be compared with the person who goes to a theme park only to stand on the sidelines and hold everybody’s purses and nachos while they ride all the exciting, stand-in-line-for-an-hour-in-the-summer-heat, can’t wait for the thrill of your life roller coaster. “No, I am having just as much fun standing here watching all of you ride – I promise. No, really, I am glad that we drove 13 hours to come to this theme park so I can watch your $6.00 nachos and $4.00 drink while you wait.” You know that person . . . there is always at least one in every group (and by the way, it is not as fun to watch, just for the record).
So, after flirting with the idea for quite some time, I have decided to throw in the towel on making excuses and begin a blog. It’s a little scary and a little exciting all at the same time.
My hope is that this blog will be a source of encouragment and occasional laughter for those of you that read it.
Hey Liz! Welcome to the blog train
It’s a lot of fun! Hope all is well at your church!
Woo-hoo, Liz is on the blog train!! You’ll love it. You know, for me, until I can have a column of my own, this satisfies that longing. I’m adding you to my blogroll next!
